Hey all!!! This will be my first foray into the world of GSM. I hope this works out for me, in my market!!! I got a free Refurbed Moto V600 off www.attws.com. Today was the last day of the promo so I had to jump on it. I signed up for 1 year on the GSM 450 Nat'l plan. Wish me luck guys!!! |

What did you pay for the v600? (And does it have the software bugs fixed?)

I am so anxious & hopeful that GSM is good in my market. I only pulled the trigger on this deal since today is when this online promo expires, knowing that the merger was approved. Cingular had no native presence in my market. I'll keep you posted...

I failed to mention that this line will be in addition to my primary VZW line. IN w/ VZW has recently paid dividends for me as more & more of my calling circle keeps joining VZW. This was all about the timing, w/ the merger being approved, along w/ the V600 being free & a beautiful phone. I have been drooling over the V600 for some time now, but didn't want to join AT&T till the Cingular Merger was approved. This is a no-lose proposition in my opinion, as I can always purchase another GSM phone off ebay later. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all the help & knowledge of you all!!! |

I didn't really want a AT&T branded phone myself, but w/ the merger approved, & the phone being free. This was too good to pass up. I'd have been kicking myself later. I can always pick up an unlocked GSM phone from ebay, or myworldphone.com, or wirelessimports.com...

I was tempted too. But, I HATE ATT with a passion. They are still saying I owe them money from gophone...wtf? They are clueless, and no offense, but I hate talking to the Indians for ATT...they are clueless and hard to understand. I would have ordered the 20$ plan, because 240$ for a v600 is still a good deal! I think you'll be pleased with the GSM coverage. It's funny becasue you switched from ATT TDMA last year around this time.

Sstrosberg: I am actually back up here in Phoenix now, specifically Scottsdale. I have been using my T-Mobile phone all over town and love it! Now I know the At&t network is different than what I use, but it is good. I hope things work out well for you. I love the T-Mobile network here in Phoenix. From where I work to where I live, there is flawless coverage! |

I had no problems with AT&T in the NW parts of the valley last month, RF was maxed most of the time.

I am up here for good now. I am working for a communications company that does Motorola 2-way radios and is also a Nextel dealer (indirect of course). I am having a blast with it so far and things are good. Hope you are doing well to. Most of the carriers seem to be good up here in the Valley (with the exception of AT&T TDMA, Cricket and Qwest.) However now that Qwest is with Sprint, they should be good here as well. I love my V600 and I think you will like yours too. The bluetooth headset is the greatest thing, especially for driving and just sitting at home talking on the phone for hours. I couldn't be happier! The V600 is also very good in my opinion for RF. It rarely drops calls and seems to hold them better and clearer than my E105 from Samsung. Good stuff!!! |

I have had Nextel for about 5 days now as my business cell phone. I am going to keep T-Mobile as my personal phone. It has been working great so far. They don't have the in-building coverage (at least from what I can see) that the other carriers do, but they still work indoors. I haven't dropped any calls yet so that is good. The audio quality is decent, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I have a blackberry. The data functionality on it are great, and I love being able to get emails from work when I am out of the office immediately. The Direct Connect feature is very cool as well. It is so handy for business applications and communication between members of the team here. I will let you know if there is anything that I don't like about it, but I haven't found it yet!

| Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7510/3.7.2 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/4.2.3.5h) The keyboard on this phone is great too. Its not like typing from a computer but it sure beats a cell phone! It only will take me about 90 seconds to type out this reply versus a cell which could take minutes!

sstrosberg, I have been using the ATT 3595 go phone since April and live in Scottsdale area and also have two lines with Verizon. I bought the Gophone since my office gets horrible Verizon reception. I have traveled with both and so far are about the same I find it a toss up. I have found a couple sketchy areas in Scottsdale and mainly inside some stores but Verizon is not that much better. I plan on keeping both for now my Verizon contract ends in December. When I went to North Carolina, Raleigh, Charlotte and the coast and found the ATT phone was fine as with Verizon. We drove to some very rural areas in the state also and I had full service with with ATT and Verizon also worked well. I do like the functionality of GSM as your features follow you on other GSM networks. To be honest it is a toss up. RH |

You should really like it, mine is fantastic! If you have the means, I would highly recommend picking up an HS810 Bluetooth headset, it is choice!

I got a refurbished E105 from T-Mobile back about 3 months ago and it looked brand new. I think it may have been a refurbished board/radio with a new case. It looked and worked great! Don't know what AT&T does for refurbs...
