Hello- I'm currently looking for a new cellphone and service. Currently, I'm having a hard time deciding between Verizon and SprintPCS. If anyone has a recomendation as to service providers, I'd love to hear it. I currently have service through AT&T, and while is isn't horrible, it isn't great either. Here's a little background info: I stay mostly in the Puget Sound area, but do travel to Eastern Washington on a limited basis [3-4 times a year]. When I travel out of state, it tends to only be to large metropolitian areas [Chigaco, New York, LA, etc]. My most important factor in a cell phone is coverage. The rest is just extra to me. Currently I'm leaning towards SprintPCS, mostly because I read Verzion's End User Agreement/Contract and I really don't like the wording. Seemed like they are waiting to stab their users in the back as soon as they can. Also, if anybody has a specific Store to recomend I'd love to hear it. Thanks. Nic Templeton Seattle WA |

There was another thread about Seattle & Eastern WA recently. Read it by clicking here. If you have additional questions, feel free to ask. I believe there were other topics about Seattle, so try doing a search to see what comes up. In a nutshell, Sprint & Verizon both would work well in Seattle Metro. For the east WA, Verizon has more coverage because of its analog support. As far as dealers are concerned, I could refer you to several dealers in the area some in Federal Way/Tacoma to Edmonds and farther up north; I used to manage a store and worked with couple others. However they all carry T-Mobile, AT&T and Qwest. I only know one dealer who deals with Verizon or Sprint, but they are way up north, Marysville. He's a close friend of mine. If you are willing, I could arrange something and let you know. |

Thanks for the link. Those threads were very helpful in convincing me that I wasn't interested in Verizon [which I kinda knew to begin with]. I'm still hoping for a little more info on SprintPCS. It sounds like they've got good coverage in Seattle. Is there anybody here that uses SprintPCS currently in Washington, outside of Seattle? If so, how would you rate the coverage? As for dealers, Federal Way is fine, I go there often. I plan on making a decision very soon, my current phone is junk and I've told ATT to turn it off at the end of this month. Thanks. While I was in Seattle, I carried Sprint PCS and T-Mobile. I would see that inside buildings, T-Mobile and Verizon gave a stronger signal than Sprint in many areas, especially in Seattle. Even at the UW undergound parking structure, with some T-Mobile phones, I would ge 1-2 bars of signal, which with Sprint I wouldn't get any. As far as Sprint's coverage east of Seattle, you could try looking at thier coverage map. It would basically tell you they have the major hwys covered and the smaller towns like Yakima going into Spokane. Anywhere outside of that is basically no service, unless you pay for it. So if you are planning to do a lot of camping, hiking and those kind of activities, Verizon would be better. If you are going into more of the populated areas of east WA, Sprint will work just fine.
