Default Cingular Dead Spots on the Peninsula/East&South Bay in SF Bay Area?

Hello everyone,

I just started using Cingular in mid-January and I had no problems so far in the Redwood City area. After reading through numerous posts on both Howard's forums and WirelessAdvisor.com, I was wondering what dead spots others have encountered on the Peninsula/in the South & East Bay. In San Carlos/Redwood City, I was able to get 3 to 4 bars near Holly and 101 and about 1-2 bars inside my house as well as 3 bars at SFO. I am coming back briefly in March and would like to know what areas are trouble spots in the areas mentioned above. Just out of curiorosity, how's the coverage out on the Bay if any at all?

Thanks

Cingular has improved significantly over the last two years. But 7 times out of 10, calls get dropped on the 280 between San Jose and Palo Alto, and again from Palo Alto to San Mateo. In San Francisco, I generally get 6 to 8 bars outdoors, and no service in some buildings, like at SF State.

It works very well for me between San Francisco and Menlo Park on 280 and also on 101. I have no experience further south. In Menlo Park and Palo Alto it works well in the main areas but when you go towards the foothills you get into trouble... esp with in-building coverage.
