Default Cingular Coverage on GSM 1900 Mhz on San Francisco Peninsula

I just got a prepaid SIM card for use on a Motorola Timeport 250 (in the US known as L7389 I believe) from Cingular in Burlingame on Friday before heading back to London. I made a few test calls from the Redwood City/San Carlos Area more specifically close to 101 off of Holly Street on Redwood Shores Parkway. From the 1900 Mhz side of things, I had good reception outside of the shopping center there with 4 to 5 bars. The penetration inside the one-story shopping mall buildings wasn't too great but maybe to be expected after what I read so far on the forums, inside I had 1 to 2 bars and as long as I didn't move the phone around too much, the call stayed connected. The volume level and voice quality was relatively good, but it was a bit hard to hear outside since 101 is less than 1/2 mile away and the constant roar of cars is louder than you'd find in a residential neighborhood. Anyone else here with reactions to coverage/signal strength for the Peninsula (SF Bay Area only, please) on Cingular/T-Mobile? Also, are there any potential, nasty deadspots that anyone can tell me about such as the hilly sections on 280 between San Jose and SF?

Thanks
