He's probably referring to these Amazon.com deals:

Motorola T720i Phone (T-Mobile) - FREE after rebates

Sony-Ericsson T68i Phone (T-Mobile) - FREE after rebates

There are other free phone deals available directly from T-Mobile, but not on these higher-end models. Presumably, Amazon is able to offer these deals because they are refunding most of their reseller commissions from T-Mobile back to the customer in the form of rebates. I believe that this is because unlike other retailers, Amazon is more concerned with expanding their market share in consumer electronics rather than posting large profits.

At any rate, it took about 2 months for Amazon to process the rebates on my T68i, I ended up getting back about $250 total from them. Bottom line is that I was able to get a $300 phone for less than $50 with free shipping. So far, I've been pretty pleased with both the T68i and service.

Went into the store and told the rep. that i can get T70i for free on Amazon.
It took only Five minutes to convince him,
He talked to his boss and he agreed.

If any one from sunnyvale want this PH from T-Mobile
i can give the rep.'s mobile # , if you refer me - you get the deal and i get $25 credit.
