Default AT&T $19.99 local plan

How is the AT&T $19.99 local plan for use in Portland Oregon metropolitan area? I am with Verizon and have 15hours on my phone, lifetime meaning I've not used it more than 45min a month on average and AT&T plan gives me an hour a month, which is perfect for me.

I seldom call long distance and I'm assuming calling Vancouver Washington from Portland Oregon isn't considered long distance even though you call 360-xxx-xxxx, because it's still in home coverage area, no?

How is 1-800 calls assessed if you call from home coverate area?

Before you do anything drastic call verizon customer care and tell them your dilemma and that you are pondering on the move. There is a save plan at least in my area for $15 or $20 months for 50 anytime minutes and 500 n&w if i'm not wrong.

This is a SAVE plan only, if you're in contract chances are they won't offer it to you.

8yy calls would bill as airtime, but of course no LD charges.

I would see what kind of "Save Plan" Verizon has before jumping ship. It is always a good idea to atleast try before changing your number and your carrier.
