I'm currently pursuing my MBA at University of Phoenix. I am in the middle of a research project and need some information that I can't seem to find on the web, at the library or through any research databases. CAN ANYONE HELP ME? This is the information I need to get: - Cellular phone usage (current and potential) for Hispanic users in 4 metro areas (and 50 mile radius): Bakersfield, Fresno, Modesto and Stockton (cities and counties) - Would like these customers to be AB or prime credit customers (can you find out how credit ratings relate to income levels); believe that credit lenders may have this info. Do you know how Sprint or telecom companies in general rate the credit of customers? - Total number of Hispanic households/individuals in these 4 areas - Possible customer lists or places where I could get possible customer lists. If you can provide any of this information by December 23, 2002, that would be GREAT! I am trying to produce a marketing and management plan for a cell phone company, and I chose Sprint. Thanks, Frances |

I don't know about the break down of usage among different races however the markets you are looking at are ran by Ubiquitel (www.ubiquitelpcs.com) as an affiliate of Sprint. If you listen to their quarterly conference calls you can learn some facts about credit class percentages among their user base but I've never heard any mention of race . They have had a larger than normal churn in that market after acquiring Via Wireless and phasing out the unlimited use plans that Via put forth. Via also had a less than optimal buildout of the area so Ubiquitel added many sites to beef up coverage. G. |

Curious why your studies would require a customer list. This requirement seems motivated by something more than scholastic interest. Many companies today sell their lists to marketing firms willing to pay for it. Because this has become so pronounced, some States actually require firms to allow their customers to opt-out of having their info included in what is sold. California is one such State. As to the other numbers, I have only seen projections by industries for technology growth (CDMA, GSM, wCDMA, CDMA2000). I would not doubt that figures are kept by gender, age and ethnic groups, but that is something you'd need to see the carriers about.
