My sister in law just started t-mobile... moving from Verizon to t-mobile.. (only for the plan) here in Salt Lake City. She received their free Motorolla and it's not going to cut it... she is going to trade it and pay for something better... which one? An Ericcson, a Nokia or a Samsung... I want her to get something that has a reputation of not being crap... Thanks for your help!!

any new school Nokia... I dunno what they're doing but I swear it seems like the coverage is better on the signal strength... think 8390, 6590, 3590... et all NOT 3390 OR 3395

I have had my Samsung s105 for about 6 weeks and am very pleased. Much better than my 8290 and at least on par with my old "brick" 5190. BTW the only Nokia currently offered through T-Mobile is the 3390, and the s105 is better, but more costly.

I see those 3390's all the time.... Are they any good, or do people have them because they're free?

Avoid any free motorola product with t-mobile. In my experience Samsung will give the clearest signal. Close behind, the higher end motorola v70, v60 and 720i all are high quality phones. The Samsung r225 is a good phone and is inexpensive. Some people have had issues with the phone going into "emergency only" mode. A manual network search can usuallly fix this problem. Did your sister go to a direct T-mobile store or was it a reseller that sells many different types of cellular service (AT and T, Verizon, Sprint)?

I have two of their free phones -Motorola T193 and Nokia 3390 and perfectly content with them! I have access to other fancier ones and can not tell the difference as far as reception. Perhaps I've lucked out?! |

I had the motorola v66 for a few months. I found the reception to be fair. I now have the sony ericsson t300 and find the reception much better and I really like the features. My daughter has the Nokia 3390 and the reception is good. It is better than my former v66, but not as good as my t300. Good luck! |

Maybe I should get her the 3390, like what I got my friends.
