Default unlocked phones...

I am somewhat new to this... I just need a quick rundown, i was thinking about buying the nokia 7650 on ebay, and it says "unlocked" but i would need a sim from a provider that would allow me to use it on there network which i cant seem to find anywhere for this fone.. Does anyone have this fone working in the us? or any sugestions because ive been trying to buy a fone that hasnt come out in the us yet that is "unlocked" but to my knowlage i would have to aquire a sim card and without one from a local provider me even thinking of buying a fone is pretty useless... if what im saying is not true could someone plz enlighten me

you could just sign up for a rate plan that includes a free gsm phone, then take the sim chip out of that and put it in your (probably much better) phone off of ebay.

this way you'll have a back up (locked) phone if your other phone breaks, get lost, etc...

Nokia 7650 will not work in the US because US GSM providers (AT&T, Cingular, & T-Mobile) only support GSM 800/1900.
Nokia 7650 operates on GSM 900/1800.
