Default T-Mobile Customer Service AND Coverage in (1) Marina/Venice and Rest of LA

Have been through just about every major carrier in L.A. Currently on NEXTEL, but declining call quality, plumeting service and the need for world portability has me searching for answers and a new carrier.

Was on ATT GSM for about the 2 first months and, despite the $99 unlimited finally had to leave for service issues. Store folks in MDR say still problematic.

1. Appreciate ALL responses on T-Mobile call quality (including missed calls/signal strength/VM operations) inside houses/buildings and outside in Beach/Marina/Venice, Westwide and anywhere else in the three counties and any travel experiences domestically/internationally.

2. Appreciate all responses to on ToMobile customer service quality and responsiveness, including ability to get problems straightened out at stores, flexibility, etc.

3. Please indicate too if anyone on the new 5000/$99 plan. I'm a heavy personal/business user and chew through minutes.

I have an account on Hold from TMobile, deciding if I should reactivate it here in L.A.

Thanks for your help!

Peter

I can tell you their customer service is very good, and that their coverage in Pasadena, Monrovia, Burbank, and Glendale is also covered very well.

You'll have coverage all up the 605, and on the 210 freeways too...

T-Mobile's customer service is good in my experience, although I don't believe most CS issues are handled at stores - just call 611.

There are, of course, dead spots in L.A. (just like with every carrier). I don't go to MdR very much, except once in a while on Lincoln down to the airport, but of course that's going to be covered. In-building coverage can be problematic, particularly in fringe areas (some of which are on the 10 freeway, odd as that is - at Crenshaw and again at Fremont, and just south of the 10 on Walnut Grove).

As far as customer service, it's a mixed bag. I find T-Mobile to be much more pleasant right off the bat than others (*cough* CINGULAR *cough* AT&T *cough*), but the level of clue varies, as it will with any carrier. Generally speaking, though, they are clueful and they are willing to try and work with you even on unsupported phones (such as the V3682).

It's hard to fight the urge to get such a large wad of minutes, though. You should try the 2 week trial period and see if it works.

Heh, I parsed MdR as "mort de rire", French for LMAO (literally, dead from laughing).
