Hopefully, they will lose out like some of the NIMBY's are here in Lake and Mendocino Counties. Verizonicon is putting up sites all over the place, and Edge(AT&Ticon)Wireless has also been adding several new sites, still haven't seen/heard about Sprint, Cingular, Nextel, or T Mobileicon putting sites up yet(they all have licenses here). They have had a couple of victories though, the removal of a 150 foot US Cellular tower on Spanish Mountain overlooking Ukiah, and the denial of a request to build a 90 foot tower in Hopland for colocation of up to 3 providers, here's the minutes from the Mendocino County Planning Commission's meeting on Sep.19th of this year. Check some of the nuts out opposing towers, it'll make you laugh at their absurdity and cry at their sucess. What's worse, many of those blocking towers are council members

    My thougth on NIMBYS:

If you want to whine, we will make sure you can't get signal, FROM ANYONE.

Carriers should make up a nimby map. Saying "due to nimbyism, you cannot get signal in these areas."

I live in San Jose, California. I have THREE building attached cell sites within 1500' of my house (Sprinticon, AT&Ticon and Verizonicon). NO nimbyism here. GREAT signal though.

Well just like I thought, the residents won and got the planning commission to deny the tower. I hope that bastard musician is happy now. Sprinticon can take the matter to court but probably won't. This particular location was important but not vital enough to justify spending the court costs.
