Default Verizon AC & Las Vegas/Nevada

Well I've spent a few days in Las Vegas (The strip, West suburbs/Summerlin, North Vegas and East suburbs/Henderson) and I was quite impressed with Verizon's AC coverage -- I didn't have any problems at all with reception.

I also just flew in to Reno and drove to Carson City -- I had good coverage throughout the entire drive thru cow country...quite impressive. And so far coverage has been quite good here in Carson city. Way to go!

Las Vegas and most of Nevada seems like a pretty easy area for any carrier to cover. Plenty of places to locate towers and the terrain is relatively flat. Some of the larger casinos even allow micro cells inside.

I was not impressed with Verizon on the strip. I've been there like 6 times since we fly America West and it's cheap to go there. Last time I was there (June) we only stayed on the strip, no car etc. just to relax. Stayed in the Aladdin, cheap new hotel since it went bankrupt. hardly any service on the casino floor so if I was leaving the hotel....no service! 3 Bars in the room....sounded OK. On the strip, near the Bellagio my phone went into analog alot. Now I can't gambel, im 17, and I love Vegas, but I didn't find Verizon to be very strong on the strip near the Aladdin/Bellagio. Everywhere else it was GREAT, MGM big ____ hotel had 4 bars everywhere....so the Aladdin needs some microcells!

The man walking around with the cell phone asking "can you hear me now?" is in reference to the network. Such as "We never stop working for you," which that statement is always on the ads. You can't expect something that is radio wave based to be perfect and work everywhere, that's just downright naive! Do you expect your car stereo to work everywhere you drive? A cell phone is basically a two way radio. (click here to see a good explanation)

When you go to walmart, do you expect to see a yellow happy face floating around cutting prices? No the yellow happy face is a symbol that they are trying to have the lowest prices over competitors such as Target and Kmart.

When you get gas at Chevron, do you expect your car to start talking? No, they are saying their gas with techron is better for your car.

Just my two cents. Of course I am defensive because I work for them
