Hi, I'm planing on getting a new phone and a line, I've been looking into getting a tri-band GSM. I really like the T68i, V70 and the new moto (don't remember the model). I've heard ATT just got the GSM network in San francisco/bayarea, does anyone using their network ?? how's the coverage ? Where can I get a good deal on a T68i or similar phone with new activation, the rate plan I'm looking at around $40. thanks in advance. |

Fry's has the T68 through AT&T for $150 with two $50 rebates. From what I have heard the network is good in San Jose and the Bay area but I have not had a chance to try mine there yet. However I am loving mine in Sac.

I saw on Amazon.com with T-Mobile a V70 free with any activation 29.99 and above that included 3000 min for $39 or $49 local only. |

| AT&T GSM coverage is bad: for example, my calles get droped in several places driving from San Jose to San Francisco on 280. Do not have a first-hand experience with T-Mobile, heard they use Cingular network, which is OK. |

Anyone here with AT&T GSM in Orange County CA? I'm thinking about switching over to their GSM service since I'm currently on their TDMA service and have had great service with them. I want the T68i but I hear it gets bad recieption with AT&T, can anyone comment?

If you get ATT GSM get the S46 phone. It allows you to talk on either the TDMA or GSM network if you sign up for the multiband plan. I live over in South East Buena Park and the reception is ok not the greatest. I called ATT several times to have a trouble ticket opened regarding the coverage in my area. I was told by CSR that I am in a "frindge" area. I asked how far away I and where is the the cell tower and they told me they could not tell me because of some propriatary info. I was pissed don't we have a right to know where these things are. So I went online to the FCC database and located the tower near me, South West Corner of ValleyView and Katella in the city of Cypress. Its a very small microcell that is a little over a mile away from me. When I travel outside of my residence the service is better. ATT is really good in Anaheim, gee I wonder why. |
