Default Recommendations for Phoenix Area.

My contract with Qwest wireless is up on Nov 1. While I really had no problems with their service their selection of phones available sucks (to say it politely). I'm looking for a family plan special for at least 2 phones (currently have 4). If I stay with Qwest won't have to pay to activate any phones but if I order new ones I will anyways. Any recommendations on the best deal out there for a harried, underpaid Dad Thanks!

MM,
Before you leave Qwest, are you aware they now offer UNLIMITED Local minutes for $39.99? No free LD, and you can't roam outside of the state, but it is a good deal for AZ.

Otherwise, if you want better coverage, go to Alltel or Verizon.
If you want better phones, go to Sprint PCS, although T-Mobile may have some to interest you.
AT&T also offers some competitive plans, but keep in mind, away from the interstates, AT&T roams in analog on Verizon or Alltel.

Verizon introduces some new plans on 10/30/02. Here is a site where you can compare most of the plans side-by-side:

And here is a site for reviews of Cellular carriers in AZ:

If you don't leave town often, you can just price- and phone-shop. If you want unlimited minutes for the kids, use "Q by Qwest", not Cricket.
