i signed up with Nextel over 2 weeks ago. they have a two week grace period to try the service. i want out. is there a law in California that says there is a 30 day grace period?

No there is not. The industry standard is 14 days, and you must pay for any airtime used. AT&T provide a 30-day trial period; that is the only exception.
