Question for Sprint Users in Arizona According to Larry:
"Sprint
is converting Qwest towers in AZ now so there will be improved coverage from this right away.
FCC registration records have been changed to reflect that Sprint
now owns some former Qwest towers in AZ and in every other state where Qwest operates. Of course many sites are not registered with the FCC so there are likely many more that we don't even know about."
My question to you all is, let us know if and when you notice any improvements in Sprint
service. I am guessing one of the biggest improvements will come in the form of in-building penetration. I am interested in hearing if anyone notices these!

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona I was just in AZ (Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale) last weekend. I had no trouble with indoor coverage anywhere I went.

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona I suspect some of the those Qwest towers in Scottsdale might already be on for Sprint
as I had like 3-4 bars everywhere I went.

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona I have noticed 5 Qwest sites converted to Sprint

At my old house, Qwest had a much better signal than Sprint
. I think that site was converted too. My personal service has changed dramatically, and yes, the improvement is most noticeable indoors. I couldn't use Sprint at work, now I can.
Sprint has added only a few new sites here in recent years. Adding all these Qwest sites at once has made a significant change in coverage.

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona According to a friend that I have who is the owner of a Sprint
reseller:
"Although the process is lengthy, they started it last year.... but you will start to see new improvements in the old Qwest markets..... we have yet to see a large improvement in the AZ area.... but in Denver it was massive."

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona That's because Denver was the easiest market to convert over. Qwest used the same compatible network equipment as Sprint

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona Not to mention I noticed that Qwest and Denver seemed a bit like Coke and Atlanta while I was in Denver for a conference a few years ago. I am guessing, though I have no proof, that Qwest's Denver network was probably their best.

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona Yes Matt good guess. Denver was their best effort and I'm sure that Bill Radio would agree.

Re: Question for Sprint Users in Arizona I concur. You'll find good service from every company near the home office. Nobody complains about Sprint

We will miss Qwest Wireless as a competive alternative. Their conversion to Sprint
here seems to have been done with few complaints.
BTW, Qwest is offering some innovative plans. They offer an Unlimited plan where Sprint
does not.
