I live in So Cal. Because TMobile recently rolled out here, they are still offering the get more plan for 1000 minutes for 39.99. I called TMobile today and found out that that offer expires on September 30. From my understanding it will then be 600 minutes for 39.99. Needless to say, I want to get the 1000 Minute plan. Here is where it gets complicated. I also want the deal offered by Amazon for the T68i. But when you go through the motions to purchase the phone, the 1000 Minute plan is not offered. There are 4 choices of crappy plans. I called Amazon and the B*tch on the phone [she really was a mean one, cause I was nice] said that they cant offer the 1000 minute plan due to the fact that it expires before the phones are expected to ship, meaning that it would be impossible to activate the phones with a plan that expired 1 to 2 f*ckin weeks ago. I need advice. Essentially, I want my cake [the phone] and I want to eat it too [the 1000 minutes]. Any ideas on making this work? |

hi, you might try just buying the gsm chip from t-mobile to lock in the 1000 minute plan and then buying the phone later. i bought my t68i in europe (unblocked) and use it with all of my different gsm phone numbers (including my t-mobile number). since it's unblocked, i just need one phone for all the numbers i have. i love the t68i phone. it's very well designed and the battery lasts by far the longest of any of the many phones i've had in the past. the downside to doing this would be that you'd lose the subsidized price of the t68i which amazon is offering for activating service w/ t-mobile. i believe that the price for an unblocked t68i here in the usa is around $429. |

I think you probably won't get a T68i for $50 in a store, but you should be able to get one for $100 or $120 in a store, especially if you go to an indirect reseller (one who sells more than one brand of cell service, such as Verizon and T-Mobile). If you do pursue that, though, read carefully before signing. Often there is a stipulation that if you return the phone or cancel service within the first N months (sometimes 4, usually 6), you have to pay the indirect reseller back the price break they're giving you. Another alternative is to get whatever phone and then buy either a T-Mobile/VoiceStream T68i or an unlocked one on eBay.

goto one of the coporately owned stores..and tell the sales rep what you want. see if they will allow you too sign up now and take one of the low end phones to exchange it and pay the diff when the t68's get in.
