I was just lookin up cingular online n i saw the v60gi which works on GSM....so i put in my zip code n it cant be found. Neone know when the v60gi'll be available in LA n how much it'll go for?

I have never heard of the V60gi. There is the V60g for T-Mobile/Cingular, and the V60i for verizon.

There is a v60i for GSM (but I have always seen it referred to as just a v60i). It is not yet readily available but is out there if you look.

cingular's already advertising it....they got a whole page or 2 dedicated the their new v60gi.

The v60gi is an updated version of the v60. There's a few software enhancements and you have the ability to change the face plates. $200 w/activation.

The i has much better battery life, 4 lines of data istead of 3, 5 games instead of 3, many more ringtones, the ph. book holds 1000 as opposed to 500 and yes, the phone looks much more attractive. Cingular does have it, I work for an agent store and I just sold one yesterday. It costs the same as the g.

Does cingular in socal actually use amps or one of the other modes when reg gsm net is unavailable, and do the pricier v60 fones provide better reception quality?

No out-of-the-box GSM phone in the US roams to analog (AMPS). Cingular in SoCal use their own towers only, there is no backup.
