Hey everyone... I have had ATT for past 5 years, and I have seen the service go up and down many times. It also seems like they are always the last kid on the block to get the best toys and traditionally, their phone selection has been a bit week. So, after doing some preliminary research and getting pressure from my friends to get NEXTEL- i went for it and am trying it now. I have the i90c phone which is awesome...but I am concerned about all this talk about their network being weak and I will get many, many dropped calls. I still have not canceled my ATT phone as a backup in case I have to go back to it. (ol painless nokia 5165) So far: 1- up the 5 has been ok- dropped radio conversation 2x so far. From Laguna Hills- Northridge 2- No service at all on 118 from Reseda Blvd-> over the hill in Simi ( my friend says that is abnormal- he has conversations all the time there) 3- Very weak/erratic signal strength all over the place. I really would like feedback on Nextel's overall service and if anyone has any suggestions, good or bad regarding nextel. I would like to return this phone within the 10 days if it sucks. Any help would be appreciated. I was also considering Verizon and Now Sprint- I hear that they may incorporate the walkie feature....does anyone know about that? When? Any other carriers doing that? Thanks again. |

Replay Nextel must have a bad cell go down. I believe they have at on the 118 just west of Topanga where there is a sign for Rocky Point Church. They also have a site as you drop down into Simi. The Coverage in Simi is so, so. I live in Wood Ranch and the coverage there is spotty at best. The valley has good coverage. I have a friend that works for them in the SG valley and they seem to have a good deal of cell sites in the greater LA area.
