Default Dilema: stick w/ ATT or switch back to cingular? in riverside (909)

here is my dilema, i recently switched to ATT from cingular because i hated cingular ever since they took over from pacific bell wireless, anyhow in my area they recently upgraded all the networks so if i cancel my ATT (which i switched to because i was w/ cingular for 2 yrs w/o reception at my apt.) i will have to pay 150 cancel fee. the reason is that although im impressed w/ att's reception, my cingular phone now gets full reception at my new apt. i like cingular's new deal w/ the rollover mins, and the fact that u can sign up for text messaging. that is wat i don't like about ATT, im still paying .10 a message and i send at least 20-30 messages a day, so i figure for 9.99 i get 500 from cingular, thats a much better deal. however, people have told me that now cingular receiving messages costs as well and is not free like ATT so now i'm not sure if thats such a great deal. i've also grown to hate my v60 (from ATT) because compared to my nokia 3390, the v60 is just damn slow and it takes me about twice as long to do anything from scrolling through the phonebook to typing messages. i still have my cingular account (no longer on contract) and im currently paying 39.99 for 450anytime and unlimited night/weekend and an extra 9.99 for unlimited mobile-to-mobile. in order for me to get the rollover mins (which i feel is worth it cos its still 39.99), i pay the same amount and get 600 anytimemins, however im dissapointed that i'll be limitted to only 3000 night/weekend but thats a lot so i'm not worried (just kinda turned off since currently i get unlimitted), also i think the moble-mobile is no longer unlimitted either.. so anyhow, what should i do.. other thing is that i want the ericcson t68, i like the phone my friend has, i really wanted nextel w/ the i95cl but they are out of stock w/ that fone.. any suggestions?

Switch to T-mobile... same network as Cingular but 1000 peak minutes, unlimited weekends (no nights though), no roaming, no ld for 39.99 plus 500 messages for 2.99

If you're going to switch to T-Mobile in California and want a T68i, wait a couple of weeks. Supposedly, T-Mobile will be getting the T68is in stock at the beginning of September. The T-Mobile deal will be around until at least mid-September.

In Cali/Nev there is a sharing agreement between T-Mobile and Cingular, just like Cingular is using the NYC network of T-Mobile.

Sorry,

I was talking about the Cali network as the original poster obviously lives in Cali. To make myself clear: T-mobile and Cingular are using the same network IN CALI (and for the records: in NYC)

The T-Mobile 1000 minute plan becomes 500 minutes on 9/1. Thus saith the Corporate Office of Doom.

I live in Alta Loma and my work is in Costa Mesa. 2 of my friends work for Riverside Flood Control and they have Cingular and even after the 945? million? sollar upgrade their service still sucked. We all have ATT and its been great. I have been using their new GSM service for the past 2 days and have travelled about 150-180 miles (Inland Empire / OC) and the coverage has been way better then Cingular when I had them. Of course the GSM coverage is not nearly as good as their TDMA coverage, but I expected that going into it.

If you're satisfied with att then you should stay...they have unlim n&w and a decent amount of anytime mins...my best friend has cingular and hates it...the reception is soo lacking..but that's just my opinion

I heard the promotion ends 9/15, or maybe even later. But I guess we'll find out in a couple of days.

BTW -- it should be 600 minutes for $40 when it changes back. If you look at the brochures, new customers in California are getting 400 "bonus minutes".

T-Mobile is losing their butt, why do you think they want Cingular to buy them??
Switch to T-Mobile, soon you will be back where you started

If you are happy with AT&T stick with them.
