Default Is Sprint service in SF really horrible?

Tempted to buy into one of Sprint phone plans because of their great deals on phones. I want to SPH A460 Sammy.

Is service really that awful in Bay Area?. Do tell....

I honestly don't know how it is in the Bay area because I've never been there but I do know that they are much improved now over a year ago.

From what I read here, certain sections of SF itself have problems. If you live in parts of the south bay or east bay, reception may be better (except Berkeley).

Sprint has made improvements the past year in San Fran, South San Fran, San Bruno, Alameda, Sunnyvale, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Hayward, El Cerrito, and even Berkeley, just to name a few.

I had Sprint Service about a year and a half ago while living in SF. At that time I didn't the think the service was bad - in fact the only reason I dropped it was because I had no coverage in my house (Noe Valley). I also recall poor coverage at Pac Bell Park as well as halfway across the Bay Bridge. Keep in mind, that was almost 2 years ago - i'm sure coverage has improved since then.
