| I jus got my V60g from fedex today (ordered it throught amazon.com) and im having 3 problems. 1. When the phone is flip down and theres a miss call if i press the smart key twice it would dial out the call eventhough im not on a handfree headset wit the phone flipped down. My smart key is set to "phone book" and so is my left soft key. 2. When i get a new voice message via sms, it would only show text message icon...not voice mail icon. 3.is the GPRS logo or the G logo suppose to appear on the V60? or did T-Mobile tooked it out? Most important of all...how can i tell if im even on GPRS network?? I signed up for the T-Zone/iStream Is this normal for the newer V60g wit T-Mobile carrier? or should i ask for a replacement? I believe my phone has the latest firmware (6.14r) Also what color are the el backlight on your V60g?? thanks!! |

I don't have that phone, so I can't address 1) or 3). However, for 2) - that's the way T-Mobile/VS does it - text message and no VM icon....

I'm not that familiar with the phone, so I can't really answer qquestion #1 about calling a number with the flip down, but I'm sure there is a way to customize the keys where it won't do that, if you don't want it to. It seems kind of like a plus to me; You can just go through your missed calls and pick which one you want to dial and have the phone call the number that you chose without even having to open the flip. Of course you have to open the flip to have your conversation, but I like that feature, seems nice. You should however consult your manual on that issue, or just play around in the menus like I do. Yes, as Matt stated, that Text Message when you have a voicemail, instead of just an indicator is standard for any phone used on Voicestream's network. It is much better than just an indicator, because it tells you who called and the time they called before you even call and listen to your voicemail. The 'G' or 'GPRS is suppose to show, but it is not very reliable on Motorolas. You should go by whether their is a phone icon at the top when you connect to GPRS. If there is a phone icon, then you are not using GPRS, but a slower type of connection, called CSD (Circuit Switched Data). In other words, all of these things are normal, and there is no need to send the phone back. |

Thanks much! I don have a phone icon when connecting but i do have a icon with 2 arrows and a padlock. Yea i can customize the key but i heard other ppo with the same phone that doesnt have this behavor. The manual said this will only happen if i have a hand free device plug in, but i guess it can be useful! Yep, you are connected to GPRS. I was trying to remember that two arrows icon, but couldn't really remember it to picture it in my mine. I had a Motorola P280 and it showed the two arrows with the padlock too, when connecting/connected to GPRS. I had forgot because I now have a Nokia 8390 and it doesn't use the two arrows thing, but it does use the phone icon and the 'G' icon. The 'G' is reliable on this phone though, if you don't have the 'G' on this phone, then I'm not connected or have been disconnected. Disconnection has never happened to me though thus far, even when I had my P280 I was never disconnected either.
