It's proven. Every time I have an important out call I get dropped! I'm in Oakland, CA and it seems Sprint has a blackhole right over my house. Does everyone have this problem? 1. Why can't we get an accurate map of these blind areas so I can do an accurate product comparison? 2. Does anyone have suggestions for who I should switch to? I'm considering Att or Verizon. Thanks! |

Any carrier can have a black hole in a specific residential area. It's best to try each carrier out and see who holds the best signal right where you want it. If they can't produce then cancel before the trial period ends.

very true. at my parents home verizon and at&t have barely a signal (no bars just the little antenna symbol) whereas sprint has full signal......at my girlfriends place sprint and verizon and voicestream have zero to one bars where at&t has 3-full bar signal......in NYC at my friend's ex-girlfriends place Sprint, Verizon, AND AT&T have zero bars service with nextel having a good signal.....on a hike at the delaware water gap my sprint phone and my friends verizon phone both had full digital signal for most of a 3 mile hike while my two friends' nextels had no service....it all depends . it all depends. USE YOUR TRIAL PERIOD.

I can't get much of a signal in my house to save my life, and I live in the middle of town (bear in mind, it's a small town). I have a lot of powerlines etc...so, I think that is the culprit. I can get a good signal everywhere -- even going into Glacier Park -- with the exception of one block in front of my son's grade school. You just never know. At this time, I won't switch to CellOne because their service here isn't that good, even if they are digital. The other wireless company is Blackfoot. if I go 5 miles outside of town, I lost my signal with them. It's no wonder tho...check out my calling area. Each yellow section is the calling area for that town. I can't go to Helena and use my phone as a local call, it counts as roaming. My local area shows covering Columbia Falls up to Glacier Park, when in reality the signal is gone after you pass main street. I travel east and west more than north and south...I love my verizon service for the fact that I can get signals in areas that I never thought possible...such as on Swan Lake, and playing golf in Glacier Park.
