Best Provider for the Salt Lake City area?

I am about to get a voice stream account since they offer such good rates for the amount of time they offer. I just have not seen any comments on their reception and service in the SLC area.

Also phone advice would be good for the area as well. From some other comments in other areas, it sounded like the best phones for this service for reception are the Nokia 3390 and the Erickson T28W.

I live in SLC, UT. I would strongly advise looking in to other provider in your area. I had friend that worked for Voicestream that will tell you that it is not the company to go with. I had the service with them broken promise after broken promise. I would spend an hour each month on the phone with Voicestream to get my bill fixed. And there service is okay in the valley but if you travel to the mountain no service at all. If you go past Park City no service. I would advised in this order Verizon, AT&T, Nextel. In my opinion Voicestream is one step up from Cricket. I now have Verizon service with there 12 state plan great service, never drop call, customer service is great.

There have been few complaints about VoiceStream in Salt Lake City. All the carriers there have optimized SLC service for the Olympics next month. However, before you go with any carrier, check their coverage on their web site. I, too, was attracted to VS due their prices, but when I found I would have no phone service in the mountains, I chose another provider.
