Nextel does mostly buisness but they are trying to get home users. Their plans are more expensive then all other companies with the cheapest being $40 and the best and most bought for home users the $50. They run on iDEN which is a combination of GSM and CDMA made by Motorolla. If I had a choice I would go with Nextel. It has many nice features especially if you have friends with Nextel. I have never heard any complaints with Nextel.

Hi "Sealmiranda" I hope you choose Nextel, don't make the same mistake I did and try Alltel or AT&T. I live in Prescott , AZ and will occasionally drive to Mill Valley,CA to visit some family, sometimes I stop in your area. I have coverage everywhere I go,They have excellent customer service never wait more than two minutes to talk to someone if I have a question. The " Direct Connect " feature is great, you can " two way " anyone who has a Nextel phone in you calling area(soon to be nationwide). The best part is you never have to worry about roaming charges because you can't roam with nextel phones. Yes their plans are a little more but, like I always say " you get what you pay for " For 79.99 a month I get 600 anytime minutes, unlimited night and weekends, all incoming calls are free, free wireless web and unlimited " Direct Connect " and Free nationwide long distance. They just came out with their smallest phone yet the i90c, I just got mine and I love it. For the best deal you should buy you phone and plan online at Nextel online I can't give you any info on Verizon but I here they are pretty good. Well good luck.......
