I was looking at the Cingular Nationwide map updated on there site as of 2/04 and noticed some light orange Planned June 2004 GSM coverage for Arizona any idea what carrier this is since Cingular does not service AZ yet until after the ATT purchase. This is good news though for GSM in AZ. Bill Radio any ideas ? Here is a link to the Cingular Nation map: http://onlinestore.cingular.com/html...eg_1_29_04.htm RH |

I am not sure about the new coverage east of Phoenix, but the new coverage in the NW is CellularOne. Which is already on in Bullhead City.

RH, So far, the most likely candidate for coverage in that area is AT&T. I have no information other than a few people who have begged for coverage there. Maybe AT&T listened. T-Mobile hasn't been showing many "future areas" lately. -Bill |

It would be nice to see more GSM coverage in this state, but I think the mountains play a big role in the lack of expansion. One of my hopes would be for coverage up in the areas around the grand canyon, but I can't see that too many people would benefit, expect all the tourists that go there!

azcellphonejunkie, look at the new Cingular map. There is a lot of new GSM coverage in AZ. Most should be 1900 as AT&T & T-Mobile cover most of the state, but I am not sure if the new CellOne coverage in the NW is 1900. I think it will take a while for additional coverage to apear, as you mentioned the terrain in AZ is tough to cover. And I think the Canyon will always be a challenge to cover, & not because of the terrain.

I see what you are saying. Hopefully all (any) new coverage that gets added in our fine state will be of the 1900 mhz variety...
