Default Expanded VZW coverage on I-5

Travelers now have better wireless service on California's Interstate 5, which stretches from the Oregon border south to the Mexican border. A new site in the rural town of Westley in Stanislaus County, improves Verizon Wireless' coverage at the interchange of interstate highways 580 and 5,

Actually, I-5 goes from the Mexican Border to the Canadian Border, along with the several railroad tracks that parallel it

All these Cingular icons, hmm, looks like Cingular's turning into the"Borg"

Oh ya, I'm also getting rid of At&T, going back to Sprint PCS.

Looks like everybody is getting rid of AT&T Wireless. I myself dumped SunCom which is there network partner and then signed up for Cingular Wireless. ILUVSOCAL dumped AT&T Wireless and now you are Rich. I've also seen a couple of users on this board express interest in dumping AT&T Wireless.

Hey Mike,

Just wondering about something. You always seem to be able to cancel your accounts with no trouble. It hasn't been a year already since you've had T-Mobile and AT&T has it?

My opinions of company's have changed a lot since I first joined. When I first joined I pretty much hated Cingular Wireless, loved AT&T and SunCom, and hated Sprint PCS.

These days I'm not really a AT&T or SunCom fan anymore. Infact I'd never use anything with the AT&T brand name in it again. I like Cingular Wireless, infact enough to now have them as my wireless provider. As far as Sprint PCS goes I still believe them to be weak in my area but I will admit they have great coverage in some areas and are a good choice for some people.

That's a lot how I felt Dan, though I never really hated Cingular, I had them when they were PacBell Wireless, and they were great in the Sacramento area where I was living at the time, I really didn't used to like Sprint much either, and I'm still not a booster, but I am very impressed with all the work they are doing to improve their network (Sprint still hasn't built out Lake or Mendocino Counties, they rely on Verizon and US Cellular for coverage here). AT&T lost me as a customer for their STUPID AND ABSURD policy of charging national GSM customers for roaming, ld, sms and data on their affiliates Edge Wireless and Suncom, and even though they don't charge voice roaming or ld to local GSM customers in their local area on Edge Wireless, they still ding you roaming charges for data and sms, how stupid is that?!! T-Mobile lost me because they have no roaming agreement with Edge Wireless, and according to insiders may NEVER have one, this became a HUGE problem with me going all over Nor Cal and often being in Edge Wireless territory (including around my home). I am EXTREMELY impressed with Cingular, the sign up and activation process was painless, and they went way out of their way to make me welcome and explain all charges, features, etc. to me (in fact, having worked in cellular, and having had several wireless companies, the lady that got me going did more than I've ever had done as a new customer, Shirley at Cingular you rock!!), this is VERY important to me, makes me feel like I'm important to them, especially just being one little customer, makes ya feel good, this is also why I have Washington Mutual as my bank, they make you feel important and welcome, whether you are a small time guy like me or a major depositor. Oh, and Verizon? Well, I keep them as a backup when I travel, though GSM is in a lot of places in Nor Cal now, even some of the teeny, tiny towns I go to like Dorris and Weaverville. They're okay, I'd give them a C, nothing big, nothing bad, just average.

count me in, i'm also going to cancel my Att as soon as my contract is over, can't believe i'm paying for services that i don't even use anymore, could just cancel now, but by the time my contract is over, it will come to $150 anyway.
