Default Sprint gets key site approved in Diamond Bar, CA

After spending over two years getting the necessary approvals from the City Council for the road easement, the Walnut Valley water district for the land lease, and finally the planning commission for tower design approval, Sprint has completed the process for a new tower that will give them new coverage in Diamond Bar along Grand between Diamond Bar and the outskirts of San Bernardino County/Chino Hills. Final approval came on October 28th. This has always been a dead zone for most providers so it will be nice to finally have coverage.

I hear ya. When I'm visting friends near Grand & Longview I have never been able to pull in even a roaming signal. If I'm lucky and stand outside I might be able to catch a stray Sprint signal from Chino Hills but it's not usually enough to make a call. Maybe Verizon users will be able to roam on this Sprint tower when it goes on the air next March/April.

I remember this last April at Peterson Park for the Diamond Bar Birthday Celebration we were operating a snow cone booth to raise money for my Kids' daycare. All of the other parents around me had Verizon and were pissed off that they had no signal and all ended up using my ATT TDMA phone which was able to pull in 3 bars of service.

There's another one coming to Fullerton very soon as well as a couple near Big Bear Lake. There's also new ones for Hermosa Beach and Port Hueneme. I'm sure there are others.
