    Default What is the best service in Santa Barbara?

    Will be attending UCSB next semester and need a good, reliable wireless service in Santa Barbara. Presently using Verizonicon in Los Angeles. Any first hand information will be appreciated.

    Wept,
    Verizonicon is the best carrier there, followed closely by AT&Ticon/TDMA, Cingular and T-Mobile. AT&Ticon GSM and Nextel are a close 3rd. Sprint PCS is brand new there but does cover the town and the campus.

    You'll be happy if you just stay with Verizonicon.

    Verizonicon is excellent in and around SB, Cingular is also good, Sprint, ATTicon GSM still need some work.

    Sprinticon actually has as many cell sites in SB as the other carriers but they don't get quite as much range from them as the others due to their lower height. They are still adding new ones to make up for the difference though.

    And where Cingular has coverage, T-Mobile does too. They share towers.
