Default dropped calls with new Sanyo 4500

Any suggestions? I didn't have problems with dropped calls in my area with my old Sanyo 4500, but I got a new Sanyo (the free one) that was just awful-terrible dropped calls at my house, which is not in a strong coverage area, spent $50 for the4900, which is better, but still had a dropped call today What gives?? I was wanting a phone with a good speaker so I can talk to my daughter in college in Abilene and have the other kids hear.... Sprinticon says they
don't have any others with a speaker...and I just bought into two more years. Am beginning to wish I'd spent more and gone with Verizonicon.

It could be your phone, if you had signal before with your previous one i would go to the store and have them check it out, when i first got my Sanyo 8100 i had good signal in my house, then i went and exchange it for the navy blue version and when i got home i wasn't getting good signal, took it back, got a different one, get home full signal, problem solve.

It could also be a problem with the local tower that might be having technical issues. I've seen that happen many times before. It usually takes anywhere from 2-7 days before they fix it though.

see if you can't find a 4700, the same phone except it is 3G voice enabled. The Sanyo's have always been top notch performers on the Sprinticon network, the 4000/4500/4700 especially. And they are probabbly one of the best built handsets I have ever seen, quality product inside and out. And incredible RF deck, and they are tough as nails. Watched one fall off a fire truck, get run over by a fully loaded ambulance (an F350 conversion) and then get tossed into a puddle of dirty water. It never powered off, just put some dings and scrapes on the housing. Now that is rugged! Didn't crack the lens either! the 4500/4700 work well in weak signal areas, better than many other phones. I only wish Verizonicon offered them...(but they don't do CDMA 800....1900 PCS CDMA and 800 AMPS only...oh well)
