Default lates PRL/ERI for Verizon

Just replaced my lg 6000,(my fifth)
this one has the newest PRL VER. 50110 and ERI 50018 because of the *228 programing,
from my understanding, this new PRL version is supposed to affect your coverage and roaming
compare to the old PRL 50096.

Default latest PRL/ERI for Verizon

Yep, it certainly affects it, and negatively too, I would take Bill Radio's advice and NOT UPGRADE to the new PRL's, from his site, http://www.mountainwireless.com

"The following PRL's appeared on September 30, 2003:

50108 All-Roam Default (?)
50109 America's Choice
50110 America's Choice ERI
50111 SingleRate (?)
50112 SingleRate ERI (?)
50113 SingleRate + Canada (?)

WHAT'S CHANGED on September 30th, 2003 PRL's:
A review of this PRL leaves us suspicious. Some of the changes made in this PRL were the very ones that were "corrected" in the last. We advise against updating to these PRL's for the time being. The changes shown:

-US Cellular switched from AC Extended to Roaming in OK, TX, CA, OR and WA.
-In Alaska, Pacific Com and Sprint PCS switched from AC Extended to Roaming. (very unusual!)
-In MN, Midwest Wireless, RCC Wireless, Cellular 2000 switched from AC Extended to Roaming.
-In NE UT, Cellular One switched from AC Extended to Roaming.

*This is a good time to note that the Roaming Indicator does not mean you will or will not be charged. It's just a rough guide. The real information is in the billing computer and will charge based on the proper roaming agreement and your plan. "

Just take it in to a VZW store and they can take care of it for you. No doubt a memo will be released soon saying "uh, oops," like with the first two revisions of 50096.

This DOES NOT exist. I just did *228, option one and it stayed 50094.

I did an ESN change (got a replacement for my dropped phone) and the OTA programming put the mangled 50110 PRL on my phone. Fortunately, the VZW store at Bellevue Square was able to manually replace it with 50085. They're terrific over there!

On a separate note, there is a big thread at HoFo on this same topic, which is also worth a read.
