Default message alert going crazy

ok my lg 6000 is currently activated and my audiovox 9500 is not,
i missed a call today and that person left a voice message, guess which phone alerted me of a voice message? the audiovox 9500(even though is not activated)
and the lg 6000 did not even beep or anything it just displayed a "missed call" and the "message alert icon". what's going on? then i tried listening to the message from the audiovox and of course it gave me the meassage that" the system does not recognised this phone", but yet it's alerting me of messages.

Default message alert going crazy

The reason why that happens is because the system still recognizes the phone number which is still programmed in your old phone. A VM notification on a CDMA phone is sent to the phone number it sees rather than the ESN. So the system can be confused about which phone to send the alert to if they are both powered on. My advice is to clear out or reset the phone you no longer use so that it is back to the original state. Or you could just leave the power off and all the VM's will come to the right phone. This also happened to me a long time ago when I accidentally left my old StarTac on after switching to a Kyocera 2255. I think this is a bad flaw with CDMA.

Thanks Larry, i'll do that, i also redial the *228 because my lg was not alerting me with a beep when i had a voice mail and that seem to fix that.

Glad to see you back.

Default message alert going crazy

Yeah for that last two days I've been in LA hunting down new Sprint cell sites. Just kidding. But I was gone pretty much for the past two days on a road trip.
