I have had AT&T for the past year and the service has been horrible. I live in the Eastside of LA and maybe that has something to do with it. Not only was the coverage horrible, but the customer service was really horrendous as well. I would strongly reccommend against anyone signing a contract with them. I can't describe what a pain in the neck it has been.
enough of that, now I am looking for something better, but reasonably priced. can anyone recommend a carrier for eastern LA? (near downtown). I was thinking sprint, but maybe t-mobile? Im not too well versed in these things so any advice would be very welcome!

Sprint should work better than AT&T GSM that's for sure. The East side of LA traditionally has worse coverage than the West side for all carriers.

verizon is suppose to be good there as well...give them a try they have a 14 day trial period...if you don't like it try another provider till your satisfied..you might waste like 50-60 in activation fees but you'll be happier in the long run..

try verizon or sprint, why would you go anywhere else? no need. why do i have att tdma? because of my contract, i should just give them their $175, it would probably be cheaper by the time i'm done with my contract 'til march 2004, ouch!

you might be happier coughing up the 175. Looking back, I wish I had! just food for thought, though that is a lot of $.

But yet AT&T seems to win the JD Power award every year here in LA. Go figure. If they win it again this year I'm going to be pissed.

I will agree with djtonye, Sprint or Verizon are the two best providers in the LA/OC area. And from now on I will not be recommending AT&T TDMA. I have seen too many threads the past few days with many people complaining about their service. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
