Default VZW messed up my auto payment. Any Pacific NW customer got affected? do #BAL now.

I have always had automatic payment on my VZW account, from day one the account was set up. Then last week, when I dialed #MIN(same as #BAL basically...) to check on my minutes, I noticed I had a carry over from last month and I KNOW this have never happened.

I called them up immediately when I noticed, but had to call back again, because they were closed before 6AM. (whereas T-Mobile is 24/7, maybe AT&T too)

First rep online tells me I don't have auto payment.
What do you mean I don't have auto payment? I have always had auto payment.

So, up a step on the ladder and talked to his superior and his answer was..

In some sort of billing system update, something got screwed up causing them to lose automatic payment information and credit card numbers from some accounts requiring affected customers to call in and re-new the automatic payment.

This is what Verizon advertises:

"If you ever have a problem, it becomes our problem the first time you call.
No run-arounds, no hassles. If your issue can't be resolved during the course of your first call, we will take the responsibility to get back to you with an answer."

No hassle. Yeah... right....

I only became aware of this problem, because I was watchful of "last payment" not showing up and unusually high balance.

Hey Verizon, if you want to make it "worry free", a good place to start is not losing my billing information every two years.
