i have cingular and i was trying some codes, and i came up with *#77#. the phone thinks for a second, and then displays the message "my caller ID not sent when i answer". do you know what it means?

It means that for the next call, your caller ID is blocked.

weird... so why would anybody want his or her caller ID blocked? we all like to know who is calling before we pick up the phone!

I often call clients from the road since it makes the most efficient use of my time... but I don't want them to have my cell phone number. I use it all the time.

no no no, the messae i get reads exactly "my caller ID not sent when i answer". this is telling me that my phone number will not be displayed when i answer a call... this is what the confusion is all about. if you want to block your number when you call all you have to do is dial *67 and then the number, but the *#77# says that my caller ID is not sent when i answer... what does it mean?
