Default Okay, okay, here's the scoop :)

The regulars in here probably notice I have added a V120e to my stable of phones, and that I also have Verizon listed again as one of my providers, let me explain before I get called something mean I try to keep up on the cellular world, and I am as most of the regulars on here know a railroad, tech and cell phone junkie, and that I post often in here, in howardforums.com, and others, well, I think that for me to stay educated about Verizon in this market, and to be able to help others, I needed to have some kind of account/phone with them to be able to track any progress, degress they make here or across my travels in Northern California. For me to keep saying how bad they are and not to have any phone on their network any more would be unfair to myself and those I try to help out, so I got a free V120e and a local digital choice account with them again, I won't be using it a lot, but it will allow me to be better informed. I really enjoy this stuff, well, I must, I have about a million phones and a few thousand service providers LOL Sorry Larry, I am going to have to draw the line, I would love to pick up a Sprint phone too, but my economic situation kinda told me I had to stop for a while There's always Christmas lol

One of these days you'll finally break down and get a Sprint phone. I can feel it coming.

Me too, when I see some of their phones, my self control has a fight with itself, one of these days, it'll lose and I'll be a Sprint guy too. I guess my nickname at Empire College fits good, Inspector Gadget LOL By the way Larry, where is the cheapest place to get Sprint phones? I looked on their web site, but their prices seem a bit high, though maybe I'm just not finding the right pages.

Great to hear... much respect. Too bad you got the 120E though hehe. Anyways, have you noticed any improvements so far?

Well, I haven't had a chance to do much checking as I just received the phone today, but I will be doing plenty of it in the coming days. The signal does seem to be a little stronger around my house, though still not that great. I did get a free Lord of the Rings DVD out of it too, not too shabby

Costco seems to have very good deals on Sprint phones. You usually get a couple of accessories (extended battery, car charger, etc) included free with the purchase as well. Sometimes Best Buy will run promotions that are very good. How would you activate it? Using an out of Ukiah address or something?

I don't think I'd have to, Sprint will do activations up here with addresses regardless of coverage as long as you are in a licensed area. I know when I worked at Radio Shack in Ukiah, we could technically sell Sprint phones and service, we just had no way of activating them or anything. T-Mobile gave my my account with my Redwood Valley address, even though they don't actually have service here, but are licensed to. In fact, most providers seem to be able to give you service with your address, whether you have coverage or not, as long as that provider is licensed to operate there. Maybe since this is a Sprint licensed market and not an affiliate has something to do with it, I don't know.

What would be the point in activating a Sprint PCS phone though in a area that doesn't have coverage with them though? Since all of Sprint's plan's minus Free & Clear America require you to be on there network you would pay a lot of roaming charges and not able to access some of Sprint's features.

My nickname is Inspector Gadget, enough said Besides, I travel all over Nor Cal on a regular basis, so I could use it a lot actually.
