Default Palm tree towers

Does anyone know who is building up all the towers which look like palm trees in the Los Angeles area? I saw 3 of them all within about 3/4 mile along the 10 freeway just west of the 605 today.

It could be any company... the palm-tree thing is to appease the local residents, not a trademark of any one wireless provider.

Well, I know that. I was just wondering if anyone knew who put up any of these towers as I have seen them elsewhere. I am wondering if it's AT&T doing their 850mhz thing.

Personally, I guess they are a good idea if local residents find them less offensive, but I kinda find them funny looking. They look so fake, but then again, this IS LA!!

I'm not aware that AT&T have any 850MHz licences in the Los Angeles market. I'm fairly sure they're all 1900MHz.

We need a picture of Angelyne (THE FUTURE GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!) next to one of those things.

AT&T is indeed 850 MHz in L.A. but is doing a "1900 MHz" thing. Sadly, that means don't expect any new 850 MHz towers.

I tracked two of those 'trees' to Sprint PCS, but 3 others that are not. It's the ones disguised as homeless people on street corners that impress me the most.

Default Palm tree towers

The older palm tree towers (circa 1999-2001) look fake. Some of the newer ones look very real I think. There are also pine tree towers going up that look so real that most people would never know they were fake. I personally think Sprint uses the best looking ones.

I think they should put some of these towers in the northern states so people there will know what it's like to live with palm trees!

As long as they're disguising towers as trees, they need to put them up in forrest areas, like most of Northern California on the 101.
