Hi! I want 3rd hand confirmation of the following, please: 1) Need to know if SprintPCS allows you to text message (per msg charge or add on plan charge) off a Kyocera 2255 if you choose not to signup for the Vision plans (just free & clear). 2) Can you create the text message without having to sign on ala most Vision phones to their online web first? (really hate having to wait for all of that to txt msg, more trouble if their web services are down) 3) If you are on a Vision plan, can you get all WAP sites? (meaning can you enter a web address and go there manually?) Thanks so much for answers! =) |

A Kyocera 2255 is not a Vision capable phone which means you can't sign up for Vision at all with it.

In addition, no Sprint phone can send handset originated messages, they must be sent thru the web. And to answer your 3rd question, yes you can go to any site by manually entering to address, you are not limited to things on Sprints homepage. Also if this is any help at all, I have heard rumors that Sprint will offer real text messaging starting 1st quarter next year. It will be real nice if Sprint does this, shortmail is terrible as everyone knows. O, and i just remembered, im not sure if the Kyocera 2255 is capable of accessing 2G wireless web or not, but if it can, you can text message thru the phone by logging onto wireless web. WW can be added to a free and clear plan for 5 dollars. WW does use your minutes while your logged on unlike Vision. |

The Virgin Mobile version of the Kyocera 2255 supports native SMS messaging. You don't have to do it through the Web browser. Incoming text messages are free, and outgoing messages are 10 cents per minute.
