I am currently using a Motorola V120 in Yamhill, OR. (45 minutes from Portland). I want to upgrade to a smaller phone, but I do not want to lose the great signal reception that I currently have. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Dan |

I'd stick with the V.120 myself. I currently have the Kycoera 2235 and am considering upgrading to a V.120 instead. I've heard that the RF blows the Kyocera out of the water on the 1900MHz band. Additionally, I'm getting sick of dealing with the radios in the Kyocera units. They "burn out" every 4 months for me on average--I'm on my 4th Kyocera 2235 warranty replacement. Granted, I use my phone a lot, but it should last longer than that...

I have been through 3 or 4 Kyocera 2235's myself and I have another 2235 on my account as well and been through 5 or 6 as well. Will they ever just swap it with another make or model? Sorry for the Thread Jacking. Kyocera hasn't been good for me, stay away from the Kyocera.

I actually live in city of Portland. Are you saying that my ancient v120c actually kicks ___ in vital functions? One thing I like about my v120c is it's really easy to put it between the ear and the shoulder. |

Newer and smaller doesn't necessarily mean better. Another thing that I really like about the Motorola handsets, and *hate* about Kyocera handsets, is battery life. I have a friend with a Motorola V.120c and I'll go through 2 batteries talking to him in the time he goes through one battery (love those unlimited night/weekend minutes . And these are relatively new, freshly charged batteries, and I'm 3 blocks away from the cell site (he actually has only 1 bar of coverage in his apartment). Were he closer to a cell site, and me farther away, the ratio would probably be closer to 3:1.

The V120 is an excellent phone RF wise, if you want something with Good RF and better looking the LG Vx4400 is a good one, with color screen and a flip phone and all.
