I live in the middle of nowhere about an hour and a half north of seattle and about 30 minutes south of Bellingham. I travel mostly between Burlington, Sedro-Woolley, and Burlington. And most of the time it's along Highway 9 and a lot of the time it's in the middle of nowhere between these towns. what is the best wireless provider for me?

Verizon and AT&T Wireless (TDMA, not GSM) both have this area covered fairly well. Other carriers are spotty. I would personally go with Verizon in this area, because I like their CDMA technology better than AT&T's TDMA technology. Verizon also doesn't charge you for unanswered or busy calls, as AT&T does if they ring more than 30 seconds. Western Wireless doesn't have any coverage in Washington state at all. |

Greetings from the Lake Stevens area! I live about 1/2 mile from Hiway 9. I would go with Verizon or ATT (TDMA or Digital, not NextGen/GoPhone GSM plans) in these areas as all of the providers are weak in spots. Don't consider anything else... I don't think Sprint has service -between- those cities. There are small weak/no signal areas on 9 between Arlington and here with all of the providers. You may even want to get both Verizon and ATT (TDMA) prepaid phone(s) and check out their coverage first. Make sure to really test out service in your first 14 days so you can return the phone if it doesn't suit your needs. Good Luck |
