Flagstaff looked boring lol. We just drove through it. Gamer, you guys need to take a helicopter flight over the canyon. Expensive, but worth it. I can't recall if you are going to Sedona or not, if so, take a jeep tour. Ours was fun, and informational. Good, short things to do at those places, cause I know you aren't staying long. Have fun!!!

I stayed at the Residence Inn in Flagstaff a few years back. You're right it was kind of a boring town.

Images: 68 | Wirelessly posted (Samsung VGA 1000: AU-MIC/2.0 MMP/2.0) So far Sprint has been ok. I lost a signal west of Albuquerque on I-40, and I didn't get it back until Acoma, NM. We are in Grants, NM right now eating lunch. |

At least they cover some of I-40 West of Albuquerque now. At this time last year they had nothing all the way to Gallup, NM. I hear they are working on adding more coverage real soon along there. Also on I-10 between Tucson, AZ and Las Cruces, NM has a lot of new coverage.

Depends where you are. Northern Arizona University is in Flagstaff, and when the college students are in town, craziness is afoot! Quote:

Hope you don't mind a newbie chiming in. I'm from Lake Havasu City, about three hours southwest of Flagstaff. I was going through Flag on my way to Snowflake some months ago and was surprised by the lack of sprint service in the Flag area. With NAU there (my alma matter.) I'd figure Sprint would be strong there. It is very strong in Lake Havasu City, and until recently was practically the only digital provider worth anything in the area. They have been adding more towers south along SR 95, the main route to Phoenix, so there aren't nearly as many gaps in service as there were before. |

Really? I thought Sprint had solid coverage in Flagstaff last time I was there. No problems at all.

When I was there, my Samsung VGA 1000 had 4 bars (-79 db's). But once you leave Flagstaff (6-7 miles outside of it), you loose the signal.

I also get great Sprint service in Flag. The mountain site goes out on I-40 almost 40 miles to the east, and I-17 coverage is good until you get near the Rim. Almost always full bars all around town, but not good to the north. To an outsider, the town doesn't have a visual "focus". Downtown is pretty modest, and the business strip on Olde Rt. 66 is like one long shopping center. In some towns you can see where people hang out. In Flag you can't. I flipped out my credit card to pay at a grocery store a few years ago and they looked at me like I was from the moon. The best part about the town is its contrast with Phoenix. At that altitude it's never hot, and there's skiing nearby. |
