Although it's been fun, I'm leaving Wireless Advisor for Howard Forums... It appears that those w/ the power to close-down certain discussions have done so, when someone who happens to have a difference of opinion voices it. So sad... If anyone wants to join, it's http://www.howardforums.com ... at least there, thus far, I can have an objective discussion and/or debate w/ someone and not be shut-down for questioning the actions of a carrier (Sprint PCS). Cheers... -714tmobile PS: I think it is unfortunate that Larry would use his moderator-status to end a discussion thread, simply because he didn't agree with the discussion or topic. Personally, I think it rather Stalin-ist to stiffle those who have a difference of opinion, regardless of whether or not one agrees with him/her. I was under the assumption this was a *discussion* board, not a "say/ask/discuss anything you want...just don't question/disagree with Sprint PCS"... I'm rather disappointed with this forum for allowing such an action to take place.

It seems there has been a lot of "house cleaning" lately...I think at least 2 threads I was involved in completely vanished sometime today. I really have no problem with threads being locked, but I am confused when I show up and a thread that had 10+ posts is just gone. If it was the content I figure it would have been axed long before that. I know there is a posting guidelines, but anytime you have multiple referees (moderators) you are going to get different interpretations of threads and differential enforcement of policies, which is unfortunate, but inevitable. EDIT: I have seen plenty of threads at HoFo get shut down too.

Once threads become old and repetitive (go around in circles) they no longer contain useful information for the public. That is why we are given the green light to close them down. It's time to move on and start a new topic. The locked threads can still be viewed by anyone and a new thread can be started at any time. Good luck at Howards. |
