Purchasing phones from AMAZON, GOOD or BAD?

I want to purchase two Samsung phones, the V205 for myself and the S105 for my wife. I see Amazon is offering huge rebates on these phones and they are much cheaper than going to a TMobile store and buying them. Is Amazon the way to go? Are these brand new phones? I saw 1 person post on this website saying Amazon sold refurbished phones but when I called Amazon AND Samsung they said they were NEW phones. How was the rebate process? Amazon doesn't offer TMobiles family plan so I was going to order the phones and then change the individual plans to the family plan. Has anyone tried this? Did it affect the rebate? I ordered the S105 for T-Mobile, it arrived on time, I tried it, didn't like it, (couldn't do some important things) sent it back, exchanged it for a Moto V60G. All went well, both phones were new. I didn't send in the rebate yet (you have to get your first bill), but I talked to the wireless people at Amazon, very helpful, and they assured me the rebate would work fine.
Be sure you print the rebate forms off the web page when you buy, cause they take 'em down after the promo
