Sheesh, lets see here. In Tracy on 11th at Central, there's a guy selling Nextel and others. On Tracy Blvd there's an ATT VAR store. In the Albertson's center there's a Cingular store (Formerly "49ers Cellular"). In the mall there is an ATT VAR (actually, 2), Cingular, Sprint, Verizon VAR and T-Mobile. Then (in the same mall) at the Radio Shack store--you guessed it, Sprint again. Then at the Walmart shopping center there are both company-owned Cingular and ATT stores within just 3 doors of each other. Then inside Walmart is an ATT VAR. Right next to Walmart is the new Costco. Inside is a Sprint kiosk. On the corner of Grant Line & Corral Hollow is a Verizon store (less than a mile from the mall, Walmart & Costco). Then, another mile or so south of that is the new Safeway and in that center is another ATT VAR. Across the street in the old Safeway center is another dealer (not sure, I seem to remember Cingular products). I'm probably missing some, but those are the ones I am personally familiar with. So how is competition here? Well, if you can sell ice to Alaskans you might have a chance. But then, its that way in all the cities, ain't it? Addendum: Well it guess it might help if I actually read the first post. This poster IS the business on 11th at Central. Never actually been in there because I have no interest in Nextel products. He is right, downtown does get a plenty of car traffic. Parking is limited. Foot traffic is more frequent on the weekends. I don't know that the location is what people think of when they think of shopping wireless. He's been there at least as long as I've lived there (5-years). I would wonder why he is selling. Is it because the competition is hurting his business? Within the past 2 years (or less) both ATT and Verizon had put company-owned locations in Tracy. They both get a lot of traffic. It just dawned on me that I can't remember seeing Nextel inside the mall, so this person may well have the corner on the Tracy market for Nextel. As far as ATT sales, I wonder if the other VARs are siphening that clientele away from him. |

The store that is for sale is actually the one in the new safeway center, which happens to be a very excelent location for cellular retail sales. the only reason i am selling this location is because i have 6 other locations in the bayarea and i do not have the time or man power to make that store do the numbers i am used to here in the bay area. some one the is local and knows the market or some one that is willing to stand in the place and make it work can push easily 150 numbers out of that place.. again i dont have the time to man it or be there to run it like it should be run.
