Default Nationwide Family Share Plan with Different Numbers?

I went to an authorized Cingular dealer today to establish a family share plan with my family. We want 3 lines for our area, but I'm going to college in Cambridge, MA in the fall and I want another line with a local 617 are code for over there. Is this possible to do, or do I have to sign a separate plan when I get over there? The dealer said they couldn't do it, since they aren't supposed to license another state's area, but could Cingular do it if I set up a plan with them directly?

Default Re: Nationwide Family Share Plan with Different Numbers?

Don't think it's possible. I say this because of the following clause I found in the Cingular contract:

"Customer must (1) use a GSM Dual-Band phone programmed with Cingular Wireless' preferred roaming database; (2) have a mailing address and live in the Home Area in which subscription is made"

Since Family Share Plans only have one bill, and that bill would no doubt go to the address where the other two lines you mentioned are located, a third line in another area code would not qualify. The argument being; If you live in one area code why would you need a line in another distant area code if you aren't living there. And, if you re living there then the line is disqualified because it doesn't meet the terms as stated in the contract.
