    Default Arizona coverage

    Hello everyone,
I am new here and would like to ask you guys who you think has the better coverage in Arizona (Mesa,Phoenix,Tucson, and maybe Bullhead) I am eventually planning on a visit and hope someday to move there I know by that time the wireless industry will hopefully change for the better. I am currently with Cingular Wireless and live in MA. and the service has been suffering somewhat pretty much everywhere from what I have been reading even here in MA., but that is partly due to the integration of the network. So thanks for any input and I look forward to joining you guys and also listening and learning, Have a good day!

Well, I've been using Verizonicon for just about 2 years now in the Phoenix Metro, & they are fabulous. There are plenty of threads here that will help answer your questions...

Cingular has come a long way in the Phoenix area. I have used all the major carriers in Phoenix and there really isn't one that works well everywhere. I am very happy with Cingular, and have had the least number of dropped calls with them out of everyone I have used. I think though it has to do with the phone also. My Nokia 6230 works very very well. I don't have any complaints about the network or the service. It has been great for me.

Verizonicon is typically a good choice in and around town. They have a good well built network, but of course will not be the best network for everyone. I lived in a house in Tucson where Verizonicon only roamed on Analog. You will however find a lot of people that would support them. WiggyFife being one of them.

Sprint seems to work well around town as well. I had them for 4 years, but left due to a location I was living had lousy service.

Alltel has a lot of coverage around the state, but I had issues with dropped calls with them. I would recommend them to someone who does a lot of rural travelling, but not for anyone who just lives and travels in town.

T-Mobileicon was surprisingly very good here in the Valley. I was very happy with them and only left them because I wanted to be on the network where most of my family is.

I don't recommend Cricket to many people because they are only a local carrier and there are many other plans that work for people on the other providers that seem to meet their needs.

Nextel works decently here as well. I had their service and a blackberry for work for about 6 months. The phone worked fine most places, but I wouldn't say they were better than anyone else.

Thank-you guys, Your right I guess I have to wait until I make my way there to test it and see what fits for me. Over in the Cingular Wireless forums there was a thread about someone complaining their Cingular service in Arizona is terrible so I agree a lot depends on your phone. Also when I pull up T-Mobiles coverage map they do show a surprisingly strong presence in Arizona, what I am trying to do is remain wireless I have no landline here at my home in MA. just mobile been that way for about 4 years so I am hoping to remain that way if I relocate. Thanks again for your feedback

Testing the area your self and your new place is the best way. Nothing worse then having to go outside your place in the middle of summer to make a call.

josephd, If you need any info on Bullhead just PM me.

I live in a Rural area near Prescott (but I'm not there right now) and I frequently travel around Arizona. The 2 companies I had the best experience with was Sprint and T-Mobileicon. I currently have T-Mobileicon in the states and they work really well for me most places I go. Sprint worked really REALLY well for me even in places where there were maybe 2 houses and a dirt road, and I had FULL coverage (around the mingus mountains/cherry area this was) and I never had problems with them. I switched to AT&Ticon after that and also had great coverage, but I switched to T-Mobile after the whole Cingular thing and definately don't regret it. I get a lot with Tmobileicon and the coverage in Arizona is great.
