I don't know what RF is.....I basically just want a phone that is going to have a clear sound and that will get a signal everywhere. I have a LG VX4400 now and its okay, but it doesn't always get a signal in my house, in stores, etc. Is that a Verizon problem or a phone problem?

RF (Radio Frequency) is a term used to describe how the phone does at its most basic function - making and holding a call and giving good reception and outgoing call quality. The Moto 710 has received very good reviews for its RF performance.

Like the old adage about location being everything for real estate, you want to start with RF performance as the key discriminating factor between phones. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Treo 650 is what I recommend, as it's my current stellar performer, & I live in the same vicinity as you. I alo never had any issues with my 6100 and/or 4400s either...

Choosing a phone is so personal, it's hard to recommend a 'best.' Over the years, I have found Motorola has superior signal characteristics, with Nokia improving much over the last 2 years. But signal isn't everything.

I took my wife to the Verizon store to upgrade her phone, and of course I tried to influence her to choose the best Motorola phone at the time, the v265. She took one look and noted the screen is too small, which is true. The peformance would be more important to me, but the user interface was more important to her, and she chose an LG phone with a much larger screen.

You should try all the models available at the store and choose one that appeals to you. Then test it in the field, and if the performance isn't good enough, exchange it.

I just came back from Scottsdale with the E815, worked well, in all the malls I was dragged into, worked well all over Mesa where my little sister lives, up and down Scottsdale road, camelback, McDowell, Buckeye, 44th, 24th. It worked well at the TPC at The Princess. I had no problems anywhere I was with the e815, but everytime I go there I do not have problems. I think the only places I had a little trouble was on TV tower on South Mountain holding a call, and on top of Mt. Lemon or Lemmon I had a problem. I have had intermittant coverage at Lake Powell once I left Page, but I expect that.
