locations. I'd imagine there will be alot of permits being applied for but they should be reasonably fast (as far as government permits go) because I think colocations are a shorter process.

I totally agree that they're the same idiots that whine to their carrier about bad coverage and dropped calls, yet refuse to allow more towers to be built in their town because they're an "eyesore". I don't consider them to be an eyesore at all. Heck, I love seeing a cell tower since it means that my chances of getting good signal are better. We have towers strewn about the countryside here and nobody complains in the least. It's great.
