Default Help with unlocked phone

I am thinking about buying a unlocked Nokia 6800 which is a qwerty keyboard texting phone. I already have verizon and will be replacing one of my phone now with it. Is buying a unlocked phone and easy process to get it to work? It needs to be able to text. I heard getting some features to work on a unlocked phone is sometimes difficult or impossibe. Could somebody please help me out and shed some light on this. Thanks

darkserpant,

This is a GSM dual-band phone that will work in North American on AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile in the USA, and Rogers and Fido in Canada. Please select another texting phone, if you intend to stay with Verizon Wireless.

To back up what COtech said, Verizon uses CDMA network technology. The phone you want uses GSM technology. Two completely incompatible technologies.

Sorry, but you're out of luck on this one.

And if you want a texting phone it pretty much has to be a Verizon device.
