The phone’s shortcut buttons provide quick access to messaging, the 3.0 megapixel camera, Web browsing, V CAST Music with Rhapsody®, voice commands, and speakerphone options. The Contact Light Ring, located in the lower right corner, can be customized to identify a message or a call from those listed in the contact directory. Customers may purchase the Nokia Twist online at Cell Phones,Prepaid Cell Phones,Cell Phone Plans - Verizon Wireless beginning Sept. 13 and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on Sept. 21.

From what I have seen all new phones will be displaying the "3G" symbol. Possibly it is due to the fact the word 3G is used more than EV and it was also time for a change.

thats what im thinking as well. this is the first VZW phone i have seen indicate 3G though..have you seen any others from VZW use the 3G indicator?

As you said this is the first VZW phone to have the 3G symbol. The only other phone I have seen this on is the upcoming Casio Rock <---click for pictures.
